Yosemite Facelift Camping 2012

It is that time of year again. We are now ready to receive camping requests from participants of Yosemite Facelift 2012. Dates available are September 25th - September 30th. We have free camping for about 350 Facelift volunteers in Yosemite Valley this year. Tuolumne Campground will be closed during the Facelift, but there will be a few sites available in Porcupine Flat for the folks that want to clean in the Meadows. Yosemite Valley campground choices are Yellow Pines, Camp 4, and Upper Pines. Special thanks to Columbia Sportswear who helped us purchase an extra 40 campsites in Upper Pines Campground. Requests can be sent to yosemitefaceliftcamping@hotmail.com. We need the following information:

Thank You Artists

I want to thank all the artists that have donated their work for the auction. And a big thank you to the Ansel Adams Gallery and their staff for hosting this event. Click on the read more button to see images of some of that work.

Art Auction To Benefit YCA

I hope some of you can make this. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is always a lot of fun and a good chance to get deals on some incredible artwork.

On May 12th the Ansel Adams Gallery will host a silent art auction to benefit the Yosemite Climbing Association. The Yosemite Climbing Association is a non-profit that gathers Yosemite climbing history and sponsors the Yosemite Facelift which is the biggest volunteer cleanup event in the Park.

John Salathe and Ax Nelson Seasons Greetings

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from YCA.

2011 Facelift Results

The 8th annual Facelift went very well and Yosemite appears to be getting cleaner every year. The areas that we have been cleaning regularly for the past 8 events have significantly less trash than in previous years. When the Facelift was started we would typically gather over 30,000 lbs of small trash from heavy use areas alone. This year, despite the large turnout, we were only able to find 4,295 lbs of small trash which is by far the least yet.

Legends of Stone

Should be fun. Hope to see you there.

50 Year Anniversary of the Salathe Wall

Join us for a reunion celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of the Salathe Wall of El Capitan. Come meet some of the climbing pioneers from the Golden Era of Yosemite . This is a Legends of Stone event sponsored by YCA.
