<p>My buddy and I are headed to Yosemite for the first time this August. For a second rope for rapping free climbs, we were debating between a 7.7mm static rappel cord or a 7.7mm dyamic rope (a twin rope). We have only ever used single ropes in the past but don't want to carry all that extra weight for just rappelling. Do any of you have recommendations or advice about using a static v. dynamic rap cord? Thanks!</p>

hello all,
im planning my first trip to Yosemite for later this summer (May/june) but ive never done any big wall or aid climbing, and im heading out climbing partnerless. any info you could give me regarding kit, where to head for, how easy it is to hook up with other climbers, best time to go etc - anything that will help me - would be greatly appreciated.
